Better Call ... Paul!
You’ve seen the show - it’s a prequel for “Breaking Bad”. And as I’ve been told, this is some of the highest quality TV out there. (Not that I can do it. Too violent! “Game of Thrones”? No problem. But there’s something about shows like this that is too much for me …)
Anyhow, in the spin-off, Saul receives inquiries from all sorts of people in need, with varying degrees of urgency - in part because he has taken out a billboard to help find clients (not unlike the one below …).
Saul ends up “supporting” all kinds of clients in time-critical challenges. And certainly that kind of problem will present itself from time to time in our industry. But more often, there’s time to think and plan ahead. I've had the opportunity to do a LOT of both for all kinds of different products and processes. So …
- If you’d like someone to work with your PD teams for a while to help them strategize + prioritize … or
- If you’re transferring your technology for the first time and would liike some guidance & support … or
- If you’ve got a scale-up/scale-down challenge and you're not quite sure how to approach it, then …

One thing I learned at Amyris was the value of the expert opinion. And contrary to what you may be thinking, I’ve learned that it’s not always valuable. It’s important to assess whether there’s a fit between the challenge and the advisor.
